What role does music play in your sport?
While music is important for both sports, breakers valued it much higher than jumpers. Noah explained that “music is the most important part of breaking, it sets the vibe for the dance.” Rokafella said that “music is the leader, it takes the dancer with them.” Music is fundamental in the breaking community: there is no dance without music. On the other hand, jumpers thought of music as an addition to their routines. Some competitions value musicality higher than others, and some jumpers choreograph their routines to music, but the vast majority of competitions and jumpers see music as an addition, or side part, to their routine.
